PNG First day

Well after 2 long days of traveling,  I arrived in my new home town of Madang in PNG.  I will be based here for 6 months, working on IT projects for a number of school in this area.  Today I got my first real brief on it all, now that my brain has adjusted to the new time zone :) I spent the first two nights in a nice lodge along the sea,  it is called Madang lodge.  It is nice to eat breakfast and looking out over the sea. A very peaceful introduction to life here. Today I move in with ne volunteer for one night until my new accommodation is all sorted, I should be moving in tomorrow afternoon.

One thing I have to get use to is not going out after dark. This means from 6:30 on you cannot be on the streets, this will make meeting up with volunteers more difficult as you have plan in advance how you will get home.  Am sure of the coming months I will find ways around this :)   Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to the challenges, of which I am sure there will be a lot.  Off now to get a security brief and also finance update.  Will update more on my first few days and impressions.
